Armenian Studies: A Hidden Gem at USC
Stop by the USC Dornsife Institute of Armenian Studies for an opportunity to explore the contemporary Armenian experience across cultures and academic disciplines. Meet our staff, learn about our research programs, travel the world to research Armenia or Armenian Studies with the help of our Tufenkian Travel Scholarship, get to know our student workers, check out our podcast studio, and learn about the impressive list of scholars, educators, authors, artists, and changemakers who have taken part in our world-class programming. Six Memos for the Anthropocene, Serenella Iovino
On the occasion of the Centennial Celebrations of writer Italo Calvino (1923 – 1985), an English-language lecture by Serenella Iovino, Professor of Italian Studies and Environmental Humanities at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The event is part of Six Memos for the Present 1923-2023, an interdisciplinary lecture series celebrating Italo Calvino’s centennial, curated by USC Professor Gian Maria Annovi. Each lecture will expand Calvino’s text in different directions with the goal of fostering a discussion on the role of literature in today’s society.

Looking for China: 30+ years of making documentaries in and about China*
Bill Einreinhofer is an Emmy Award-winning documentary producer/director and emeritus chair of the New York Film Academy’s Broadcast Journalism department. For more than 30 years, he has been making films and stories in and about China, including China: Frame by Frame, Unsettled History: America, China and the Doolittle Tokyo Raid, and Shanghai 1937: Where World War II Began. This event will introduce and showcase the Archive from a variety of perspectives, unraveling the mystery of the three-time Emmy Award-winning filmmaker’s decades-long journey of making successful documentaries in and about China.

Please join us for an interactive Group Presentation Session to learn about opportunities for U.S. citizens to pursue graduate or professional study, conduct research, or teach English. During the session, you will find out about the types of Fulbright awards, application components, tips, and get your questions answered. Following the program overview, attendees will enter a breakout room with their Fulbright Program Adviser(s) (FPA) to learn more about applying through USC.

Globefest, hosted by USC International Student Assembly
The International Students Assembly, or ISA, is a programming assembly under USC Undergraduate Student Government (USG) that is committed to voicing the concerns of international students and promoting cultural diversity at USC. In conjunction with International Education Week, ISA is hosting our annual GlobeFest event, where we hope to share international cuisines with the USC student population to promote diverse cultures represented on campus. We aim to have six unique vendors supplying food from various continents, and welcome all students to experience and learn about foods that originate from all over the world.

The EMSI British History seminar invites you to a special celebration in honor of a new book by Vanessa Wilkie, William A. Moffett Senior Curator of Medieval Manuscripts and British History and Head of Library Curatorial at the Huntington Library. Wilkie’s book, Woman of Influence: The Spectacular Rise of Alice Spencer in Tudor England tells the true story of how Alice Spencer became one of the most powerful women in England in the late 16th–early 17th century and established an enduring family dynasty.

USC Institute on Inequalities in Global Health Student Symposium
Want to hear from fellow students about their experience working with the USC Institute on Inequalities in Global Health (IIGH) and the many options available in the coming year? IIGH offers students from all degree programs an array of fellowships, internships, courses, and other opportunities to address global health inequalities. This virtual symposium will give you the opportunity to hear from undergraduate and graduate students from across USC about the programs, projects, and research they have been engaged in with IIGH and their partners over the past year in countries around the world, and how they see these experiences shaping their career paths in global health and beyond.
