“We will create a significant global presence that will increase international visibility, reach, and impact of our research, scholarship, art, education, and service.”
from the USC Strategic Plan
The convergence of globalism, technology and education require all great educational institutions to become truly international in presence as well as in focus and scope.
As the founder of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities, USC as an institution has long been a leader in forging international partnerships. Across the university, individual schools, departments, programs and scholars likewise collaborate with governments, businesses, communities and other institutions of higher learning around the world to develop teaching and research programs addressing global problems.
Further bolstering USC’s presence abroad are international offices in Asia and Latin America that support global recruitment and work with academic units to cultivate research partnerships, service/outreach programs and educational opportunities for students.
Another powerful force in extending USC’s global reach is the university’s worldwide alumni network. An expanding system of international alumni clubs helps keep these Trojans connected to their alma mater by sponsoring cultural programs and social events as well as assisting with internships for current students.
